To ask the Minister for the Arts if he will give the latest figures for museum attendance in London.

I understand that the estimated number of visitors to museums and galleries in London during 1987 was over 23 million. This is based on the English Tourist Board's sight-seeing survey. The figures for 1988 are not yet available.
