HC Deb 16 January 1989 vol 145 cc36-7W
Mr. McCrindle

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he has any estimates of the average hours worked by junior hospital doctors in the four Thames regional health authorities as against other health authorities in the rest of the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mellor

We do not hold this information in the form requested.

Mr. McCrindle

To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he expects to receive the study on health authorities' plans to reduce junior hospital doctors' working hours; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mellor

I expect to receive reports from health authorities later this month and have agreed to consider them with representatives of the British Medical Association in February.
