To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he has taken to satisfy the conditions of the Court of Human Rights for admissible restrictions on the freedom of expression in his proposals for new legislation on official secrets.

I am satisfied that the Bill is fully consistent with the provisions of the European convention on human rights.
