§ The Prime MinisterThe Home Affairs Select Committee considered the disparities in the average electorates in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in its report on the redistribution of seats (2nd Report, 1986–87). The Committee decided to make no recommendation aimed at rectifying these disparities and the Government accepted that conclusion.
