To ask the Attorney-General in how many cases the Criminal Law Jurisdiction Act 1975 has been used in!(a) Northern Ireland and (b) Great Britain; and what are the numbers of those convicted or acquitted.

I refer the hon. Member to my reply of 19 December 1988 to my hon. Friend the Member for Orpington (Mr. Stanbrook) at columns94-96. All the trials in the United Kingdom of cases pursuant to the Criminal Jurisdiction Act 1975 in respect of offences allegedly committed in the Republic of Ireland have taken place in Northern Ireland.
