Though it is not complete, information currently available to the Health and Safety Executive indicates that, in the European Community, wood preservatives containing PCP are banned in Denmark, Greece and the Netherlands and those containing Lindane in Italy and the Netherlands. I regret that full information on restrictions could be obtained only at disproportionate cost, but the HSE knows of only one EC country, France, which is thought to place no restrictions. In the United Kingdom all wood preservatives are subject to the control of pesticides regulations.
