§ Mr. Gordon Brown
To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will give the number of applicants refused licences as debt collectors under the Consumer Credit Act in each year since 1978.

§ Mr. Maude
The administration of the consumer credit licensing system is the responsibility of the Director General of Fair Trading. 1 will ask him to write to the hon. Member.
