§ Mrs. RumboldThe highly tentative demand projection set out in the Department's memorandum to the Education, Science and Arts Committee is based on the illustrative assumption that the overall pupil to teacher ratio will remain at its recent level of 17:1. This would be consistent with the contact ratios of about their present levels of 0.76 in secondary schools and 0.89 in primary schools.
