§ The Attorney-GeneralSo far as reform of the process of house purchase is concerned, improvements in practice are needed rather than legislation and I welcome the work of the professions and the conveyancing standing committee of the Law Commission in this area. The practice of estate agents is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry. I understand that consultations are continuing with estate agents' representatives and other interested groups.
