Mr. Meacher

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many persons have(a) joined and (b) dropped out from the employment training programme each month since the scheme began, both in each region and nationally.

The information requested is given in the table. The number of employment training leavers includes early leavers and those who have completed their training. The figure is estimated and is only available nationally.

leaving employment training is not currently available but it will be obtained from follow up surveys. The first results should be available by the end of the year.
