§ Mrs. ChalkerOnly one country, Turkey, has a formal application to join the European Community on the table. Morocco applied to join the Community in 1987, but the Council of Ministers took the view that this application should not be pursued. Norway completed accession negotiations in 1972, but did not in the event join the Community.
