To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on proposals to develop hospital facilities at Condor Base, Arbroath.

As stated on 6 May 1986 at column102 of the Official Report, we have made part of the Royal Marine base, Condor at Arbroath available to the United States Navy for development of facilities for storage of medical supplies and equipment in peacetime and to accommodate a hospital unit, which would be activated in the event of war.
