§ Mr. MichaelTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give in full the terms of his communication to the European Commission seeking clearance for limiting to 15 per cent, the maximum single holding in Welsh Water after privatisation and the complete text of the European Community's reply.
§ Mr. GristI refer the hon. Gentleman to the statement made by the Commission Vice President, Sir Leon Brittan, on 7 February in which he said
The proposed 15 per cent, limit on a single share holding presents no difficulty under community law so long as its application is non-discriminatory".
