Sickle Cell Anaemia and Thalassaemia

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Stoke on Trent, North,Official Report, 9 February, column 802, if he will review his decision not to include a question on local funding arrangements in his Department's questionnaire to all district health authorities on screening and counselling for sickle cell anaemia and thalassaemia.

The questionnaires were issued to district health authorities on 22 June 1988 and the Department is currently analysing their responses. The need to see further information will be considered in the light of this analysis.
