HC Deb 20 February 1989 vol 147 c519W
Ms. Walley

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much money will be lost by North Staffordshire district health authority as a result of the Government's proposals to change the basis of allocations on the resource allocation working party system.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

No money will be lost by the district health authority from its present allocation but in future years, district health authorities, like regional health authorities, will be funded for their own populations weighted to take account of age and propensity to sickness. This will provide a fair basis for the calculation of the district's share of future growth in NHS revenue.
