To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what response he sent to the invitation to attend the gathering of Amazonian Indians at Altamira on 21 to 25 February.

My hon. Friend the Minister for Overseas Development told the organisers that he was unable to accept the invitation because of earlier commitments but that he hoped to receive a report on the outcome of the meeting.
