To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has any proposals to reform the Housing Defects Act 1984.

We have recently consulted on possible changes intended to streamline the housing defects scheme of assistance for house owners; copies of the Department's consultation letter are in the Library. We are considering responses and will reach decisions as soon as we can.
