§ 40. Mr. ShersbyTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps he is taking in accordance with the provisions of section 4(2) of the Food Act 1984 to restrict, as far as practical, the use of substances of no nutritional value in foods.
§ Mr. RyderBefore making regulations on the composition of food under the Food Act 1984 Ministers seek the advice of independent expert advisory committees including where appropriate advice on need and safety. In making their recommendations the committees are required by Ministers to take account of section 4(2) of the Act.
