§ Mr. MajorFigures for productivity growth in the north-west are not available. Manufacturing industry throughout the regions has achieved significant improvements in productivity. In the three months up to November 1988, manufacturing productivity in the United Kingdom as a whole was 14½ per cent. higher than in the corresponding period two years earlier.
