HL Deb 13 February 1989 vol 504 c59WA
The Earl of Onslow

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What arrangements they intend to make in respect of laying flocks subject to notices served under the Zoonoses Order 1975.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Baroness Trumpington)

My right honourable friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will very shortly be making an order under Section 29 of the Animal Health Act 1981 to provide where necessary for the compulsory slaughter of laying flocks in which salmonella has been confirmed. Compensation will be paid as required under the provisions of the Act.
