Mr. Anderson

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what proposals he has for altering manning levels in the vehicle inspectorate and traffic commissioner enforcement sections of his Department.

There are no such proposals for traffic examiners or in the vehicle inspectorate agency. Small reductions will be made in the number of clerical support staff in the traffic area offices following streamlining of duties and the introduction of new technology.
