§ Mr. LeeThe annual average rate of increases in the retail prices index for the United Kingdom was 8.3 per cent. in 1978 and 4.9 per cent. in 1988. The corresponding figures for the 12 countries of the Community were 8.3 per cent. for 1978 and 3.3 per cent. for 1988.
