§ Mr. MichaelTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what proportion of the stated increase in the Natural Environment Research Council's budget for 1989 has been allocated to the Antarctic survey based in the Falklands.
Mr. JacksonMy right hon. Friend announced on 8 November (Official Report, columns 134–5) an additional .10 million allocation to the British Antarctic survey in 1989–90 for a new BAS airstrip and rebuilding the Halley station. Details of the overall grant-in-aid to the Natural Environment Research Council will be announced shortly.
