To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what was the percent age fall in unemployment in the last 12 months in the south-east.

In December 1988, the level of unemployment seasonally adjusted in the south-east was 421,700 compared with 582,000 in December 1987—a fall of 160,300 or 27.5 per cent.
