To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the use of electronic tagging in relation to kerb crawlers.

We have no plans as yet to introduce the use of electronic monitoring for convicted offenders. We shall review the use of electronic monitoring in the light of the forthcoming pilot studies monitoring defendants on bail.
