§ Mr. PortilloLondon dial-a-ride services are run by local voluntary management committees and funded by grant which is allocated by London Regional Transport. Membership, staffing, use of other resources, and operating procedures are matters for them and LRT. Government grant for dial-a-ride services in1987–88 totals £6.27 million which is a 50 per cent. increase on the 1985–86 figure.
