HC Deb 02 February 1989 vol 146 c393W
Mr. Maclennan

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what conclusions he has drawn following his review of the Crofters' Commission; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

My right hon. and learned Friend has accepted the main recommendation that the commission should remain in being as consituted. Most of the other recommendations were addressed to the commission which is now considering them. Consideration is also being given to those concerning the relationship between the commission and the Scottish Office and their respective responsibilities.
