§ Mr. LangThe Scottish Development Agency and St. Rollox industrial development enterprise (STRIDE), the job creation enterprise set up by British Rail, are jointly commissioning consultants to identify employment, training and business development opportunities and the role of STRIDE within a wider economic initiative for Springburn. Additionally, the agency has under consideration a training and employment grants scheme aimed at the long-term unemployed and is actively pursuing with a housing development company, proposals for housing refurbishment within the Springburn area which would involve local construction jobs.
