To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what expenditure was made by his Department on(a) the arts and (b) design in the last financial year.

Mr. Neubert

I am not aware of any expenditure made by my Department on either the arts or design as such during the last financial year. To research the matter fully would incur disproportionate costs.
