§ Mr. VazTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement regarding the current situation in the employment market for disabled people.
§ Mr. EggarThe talents of people with disabilities are currently not fully utilised in the labour market. In 1988–89 this Department spent an estimated £350 million, through general and special services, in helping people with disabilities to train for, find, and keep suitable jobs and in encouraging good practice by employers.
A review of the Department's services for people with disabilities is well advanced and a consultative document will be published as soon as possible.
