Mr. JacksonInformation for academic year 1989–90 is not yet available centrally. In 1988–89 there were 318,000 full-time university students and, provisionally 310,000 polytechnic and college full-time students on higher education courses in Great Britain, compared with 293,000 and 217,000 such students, respectively in 1979–80.
