§ 91. Mr. SquireTo ask the Minister for the Arts what steps he is taking to improve access to arts venues by the disabled.
§ Mr. LuceAs I announced last December, I have given £150,000 to the Carnegie Trust ADAPT fund to improve the accessibility of arts venues to the disabled. I am pleased to report that the question of accessibility is receiving much attention from arts orgsnisations. Additionally, I am aware that the Arts Council and the Museums and Galleries Commission both have disability officers to ensure that the needs of the disabled are fully considered.
