§ 97. Mr. MichaelTo ask the Minister for the Arts if he will make a statement on levels of support for schemes to involve children and young people in creative activity.
§ Mr. LuceThe Secretary of State for Education and Science and I are jointly funding a booklet about ways in which the arts can stimulate a child's imagination and widen the boundaries of classroom learning. It will be circulated free to all supported schools in England, Scotland and Wales in the new year. In addition, within my area of my responsibility, the Arts Council, the regional arts associations and the national museums and galleries fund a range of schemes aimed at introducing children and young people to the arts.
