§ Mr. EggarHistorically all schemes have had to make fresh applications each year for European social fund support with no guarantee of subsequent funding. This remains the situation for at least the first year of the new European social fund arrangements. As yet, the amounts for the United Kingdom in future years is not known and, therefore, the effect on individual schemes cannot be gauged.
