HC Deb 14 December 1989 vol 163 c814W
31. Mr. Loyden

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the economic future of Northern Ireland.

Mr. Cope

Northern Ireland is an integral part of the United Kingdom, and consequently its economic prospects are part of those set out by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Autumn Statement on 15 November 1989. In recognition of Northern Ireland's particular economic and social problems the Government continue to place a high priority on the wide range of enterprise, training and industrial development programmes which seek to strengthen the Northern Ireland economy.
