§ Mr. RookerTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to issue guidelines to enable Birmingham city council to draw up a proposal for a housing renewal area in central Handsworth to enable a transfer from the existing housing action areas from 1 April 1990.
§ Mr. ChopeWe shall shortly be consulting the local authority associations and other relevant bodies on the matters councils should consider before they declare renewal areas under part VII of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. We aim to issue advice as soon as possible after the consultation has finished, and in any event before the end of March next.
