To ask the Secretary of State for Health what discussions have been held by his Department with the Association of Professional Ambulance Personnel concerning the present ambulance dispute.

Ministers and officials held several meetings with representatives of the Association of Professional Ambulance Personnel before I decided on 1 December to accept a body comprising the Association of Professional Ambulance Personnel and representatives of the employing authorities and health departments as a negotiating body for ambulancemen and women.
