To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many stations and railway lines closed in the 1960s and 1970s have been reopened.

Mr. Portillo

Approximately 70 stations and 24 stretches of line. In addition since 1978 BR has opened 106 new stations and constructed seven new lines.
