How much money has been put aside to finance the building of PWR stations at Wylfa B, Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C and whether this money will be channelled into alternative energy generation if the applications to build such stations are withdrawn.
§ Viscount UllswaterFunds for the design and construction of new stations are not set aside by the CEGB in advance of expenditure being incurred. The major part of the expenditure on new stations does not arise until after planning consent and capital approval has been granted. Expenditure on nuclear power and on alternative energy sources would in any case be considered separately on their respective merits.
