§ Mr. Peter WalkerIn the five-year period to the end of 1988, a total of 258 individual overseas investment projects were secured in Wales promising over 31,000 jobs. 1988 was a record year in which Wales received 22 per cent. of the new jobs associated with inward investment to the United Kingdom. The associated capital investment for that year was over £1 billion.
