(2) what consultation his Department held with representatives of the British button industry on the provisions of statutory instrument 1989 No. 1291.
§ Mr. RedwoodThe British Button Manufacturers Association has made representations for exempting from the provisions of the Food Imitations (Safety) Regulations 1989 buttons which resemble food. These regulations implement from 1 January 1990 the European Community dangerous imitations directive and within the terms of the directive it would not have been permissible to accede to these representations.
