§ Mr. Kenneth BakerThe Government set aside £5 million for Armenian relief and reconstruction shortly after last December's earthquake. Two million pounds of this has been allocated to a project to build, furnish and equip a school in Leninaken. Aid Armenia and a number of major British firms are also contributing to the project. Work will start shortly and my Department is planning to complete the school before the beginning of the 1990–91 school year. Parliamentary approval to provision for this school will he sought in the 1989–90 Supply Estimate for the schools, research and miscellaneous services Vote. Pending that approval, urgent expenditure estimated at £1.5 million will be met by repayable advances from the Contingencies Fund.
