To ask the Minister for the Arts to what extent Government support for the performing arts has increased in real terms since 1979–80.

Mr. Luce

The Government's grant to the Arts Council, which is responsible for funding the performing arts and other art forms, has increased by 13 per cent. in real terms between 1979–80 and 1989–90.
