HC Deb 21 April 1989 vol 151 cc342-3W
Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what are the most recently available figures for admission rate(a) for mental illness generally and (b) schizophrenia to mental hospitals, broken down by country of birth.

Mr. Freeman

The figures in the table show the proportion of all such admissions for all mental illness and for schizophrenia only, broken down by place of birth. The information relates to admissions, and not to individual patients, since the same patient may be admitted more than once during the year.
