HC Deb 20 April 1989 vol 151 c237W
24. Mr. Kilfedder

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will provide more funds to the Royal Ulster Constabulary to enable community policing in the North Down area to be fully restored.

Mr. Ian Stewart

The Police Authority grant for 1989–90 is £415 million. This represents an increase of some £30 million over the previous year. It is primarily the responsibility of the Chief Constable and the Police Authority to determine priorities and allocate resources.
