§ Mr. MellorIn the four Departmental Select Committee reports completed since June 1987 which relate to what is now the Department of Health, and to which the Government have already responded, a total of 30 recommendations were made, of which four have been accepted by the Government in whole or in part. A further nine recommendations have been noted. Most of these reflected proposals in the recent White Paper, "Working for Patients" [CM 555]. Copies of Government replies to all four reports have been placed in the Library.
