To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when his Department intends to issue a planning circular to replace circular 33/70.

Mr. Moynihan

The Department hopes to issue a planning policy guidance note covering sport and recreation towards the end of this year. The PPG will consolidate and update the existing planning guidance, including that given in circular 33/70.
