HC Deb 18 April 1989 vol 151 c143W
59. Mr. Eastham

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many young people aged 18 and under have been killed at work in each of the past three years.

Mr. Nicholls

Figures from all enforcing authorities show that in the year ended 31 March 1987, a total of 21 young people aged 16 to 18 were reported as killed in the couse of their employment. The corresponding provisional figure for the year ended 31 March 1988 is 19. I regret that figures for earlier years are not available on this basis.
