To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will estimate the amount of timber lost through wind blow during the storm that struck Scotland on 13 February; what measures he has taken to compensate the owners of such timber; and what has been the total cost of such measures.

An estimated 300,000 cu m of timber were blown down in Scotland on 13 February. As regards compensation, I refer the hon. Member to the answer given to the hon. Member for Cunninghame, North (Mr. Wilson) yesterday by my hon. Friend the Minister of State.
