HC Deb 18 April 1989 vol 151 c130W
Mr. Alfred Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if the survey of disability in Northern Ireland will take account of the criticisms made by the Disablement Income Group of the surveys undertaken by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys in Great Britain; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Needham

[holding answer 14 April 1989]: The study of disability in Northern Ireland is modelled closely on the study carried out in Great Britain by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys so as to facilitate valid comparisons of the findings. As in Great Britain, the views of the Disablement Income Group will be taken into account in considering the findings of the Northern Ireland study.
